NSU | Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)
NSU’s Department of Architecture produces creative professionals prepared to thoughtfully and responsibly design imagined spaces that resonate with Bangladesh’s socio-economic and cultural context, while also considering global trends. The department’s strength lies in its focus on the foundational principles of creativity and its deep connection to the socio-cultural environment, which enriches and gives meaning to the study of architecture.
The Department of Architecture offers a five-year, 170-credit Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree, encompassing studio, theory, optional, and elective courses. Approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), the curriculum adheres to the educational standards of organizations such as the International Union of Architects (UIA), UNESCO, the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA), and the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) of the USA, ensuring a comprehensive education comparable to international architecture programs.
General Requirements
- Math and Physics with a minimum B grade in HSC OR
- Math & Physics with a minimum C & E grade respectively in A-Levels OR
- Math and Physics with a minimum C grade in O-Levels AND must have Math or Physics with a minimum C grade in A-Levels to be eligible to apply.
- For B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) program, candidates must have Math or Physics with a minimum B grade in HSC or C grade in A-Levels to be eligible to apply.
- Combined GPA of 8.0 in both SSC and HSC with minimum GPA 3.5 in each
OR - GCE O-Levels and A-Levels: O-Levels in five subjects with a minimum Average Grade Point of 2.5 and A-Levels in two subjects with a minimum Average Grade Point of 2.0. Only one ‘E’ Grade is acceptable in combined O & A-Levels. (scale A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1)
OR - US High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme (IB-DP) or equivalent.
Admission Test:Candidates must take and pass the NSU Admission Test.
