EWU | BSS in Population & Public Health Sciences

The Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) in Population and Public Health Sciences at East West University (EWU) provides a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complex interplay between population dynamics, health outcomes, and public health interventions. This program goes beyond simply studying disease; it delves into the social, economic, environmental, and behavioral factors that influence population health and well-being. Students explore demographic trends, epidemiological principles, health systems, and public health policy, developing a nuanced understanding of how to assess, analyze, and address public health challenges. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including population health, biostatistics, health economics, health promotion, disease prevention, and environmental health, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to improve population health outcomes. Students are encouraged to engage in research, analyze data, and critically evaluate public health interventions, fostering their ability to contribute to evidence-based public health practice and policy.

General Requirements

• Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC and HSC examinations (Minimum GPA 2.40 in Diploma In Engineering under Bangladesh Technical Education Board).
• Passed University of London and Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level in at least five subjects and ‘A’ Level in at least two subjects. Out of these seven subjects, a candidate must have at least 4B’s or GPA of 4.00 in the four subjects and 3 C’s or GPA of 3.5 in the remaining three subjects.  
• American High School Diploma (GED diploma is not acceptable). 

Admission Test: Candidates must take and pass the EWU Admission Test.
