UIU | B. Sc. in Economics
The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Economics program at United International University (UIU) is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of economic theories, quantitative analysis, and policy-making. The curriculum covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, development economics, international trade, and financial economics, equipping students with analytical and problem-solving skills essential for understanding complex economic issues.
UIU’s BS in Economics integrates theoretical learning with practical applications, including data analysis, research projects, and industry exposure. General Requirements
The minimum qualifications for admission into the BS in Economics program are:
Bangladeshi Students
- A CGPA of 2.50 or better in SSC and HSC preferably with science or with mathematics/statistics.
- University of London GCE “O” level with minimum five subjects including Mathematics and “A” level with two subjects.
- Acceptable score in university admission test.
- Students who have completed a two-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university can apply for admission into the four–year undergraduate program in economics.
International Students
- Have successfully completed their higher secondary education (12 years of schooling)
- At least 50% marks or an equivalent grade of their own education system.
- O-level students must have completed a minimum of 5 subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.50 or above and A-level students a minimum of 2 subjects with Average Grade Point of 2.00 or above (scale A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1)
- If the applicant’s previous medium of instruction is not English, TOEFL/IELTS scores are required.
