Uttara University | BA (Hons) in Islamic Studies

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Islamic Studies program at Uttara University offers students an in-depth understanding of Islamic theology, history, law, and culture. The program covers a wide range of topics, including the Quran, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), Islamic philosophy, Islamic civilization, and the history of the Muslim world. Students also explore contemporary issues related to Islam and its role in the modern world.

The curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in both traditional Islamic knowledge and modern academic approaches to the study of Islam. Students are encouraged to engage critically with Islamic texts and ideas, while also developing strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

General Requirements

  • General Students: Students having a minimum GPA of 2.50 both in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) separately or a Combined GPA of 6.00 (Not less than 2.00 GPA in SSC or HSC) from any group may apply for admission.
  • Foreign Students: Foreign students must have a minimum of 50% marks in grades 10 and 12 (they must have the equivalent certificate from the Ministry of Education).
  • Freedom Fighter Quota: Students having a minimum GPA of 2.50 both in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) separately or a Combined GPA of 5.00 from any group may apply for admission.
